How to change harmful habits with 10 minutes.
Our mind can be our best ally or our worst enemy, and this can change from minute to minute!
Most people who set themselves a goal that they are excited about face a first stage in which everything seems possible but with the passage of time the goal seems increasingly difficult. Staying focused is difficult because several of our parts get in the way.
Queremos escribir un libro, o vivir más sano, o ejercitarnos más, o vivir una vida más cercana a quienes somos, pero aunque al principio parezca fácil luego nos distraemos fácilmente y caemos en los mismos hábitos que no nos ayudan.
I suggest you try a simple exercise that has helped me a lot to control those impulses.
10 minutes.
That moment is magical, a moment that we have to treasure, see it as the point of growth. The place where we can truly create transformation.
The desire to smoke, eat pizza or jump to watch 1000 series is immense, our senses tell us that yes, that is what we have to do and there is no other.
The wisest part of us left the wheel and another part, more anxious, unloved, who needs comfort, took the steering wheel. What I propose:
First: Identify that moment. Give it a name, befriend that sense of momentum. Feel your body, notice how it feels, do not judge yourself, it is only present with that feeling. In a curious way, ask yourself: Is it anxiety, what bothers you? Are you looking for comfort, what can you escape?
Second:Wait 10 '. Give yourself 10 'before ordering pizza, turning on the TV, or lighting that cigarette. If you are still convinced that this is what you should do at this time, do it !!! Without guilt but now if you do it will be fully conscious.
Third: Repeat this exercise. Repetition will help you recognize each time you move on impulse.
This exercise will help you reach your goal faster, enjoying the journey and what is more important: knowing yourself much more!
